There are some people who enter our lives loudly, and then there are people who arrive quietly and somehow change everything. My story began on Slowly, an app where people connect through letters instead of instant messages. At first, I never expected anything beyond a simple conversation. I thought I would simply meet new people, exchange thoughts, and learn different perspectives. I never imagined that one person would slowly become one of the most meaningful parts of my life.
When we first started talking, there was nothing dramatic or magical. We were just two strangers sharing thoughts, experiences, and little pieces of ourselves. But sometimes the most beautiful things begin in the simplest ways. There was no pressure to impress each other or pretend to be someone we weren’t. There was only curiosity and honesty.
Something that made our connection even more unique was that neither of us really lived in the world of social media. While many people spend their time building connections online, both of us stayed away from it. We never cared much about followers, trends, or showing our lives to strangers. Maybe because of that, our conversations felt more genuine. We were getting to know each other for who we truly were and not for what we showed to the world.
Another thing that makes me smile when I think about our story is how unexpected it was. Before meeting him, I had never had a male friend in my life, and he had never had a female friend either. We were both unfamiliar with that kind of connection. Yet somehow, instead of feeling awkward, it felt natural. We slowly became comfortable sharing our thoughts and understanding each other.

What changed me the most wasn’t only love itself , it was growth. Before meeting him, I used to believe many things people told me without questioning them. I often accepted opinions and words around me without truly listening to myself. But he made me realize something important: understanding yourself matters too. He helped me look at situations differently and think for myself. He didn’t force me to change; he simply helped me see myself more clearly. Through him, I started becoming more aware of my own thoughts, feelings, and worth.
That is why our story is not only a love story to me. It is also a story about growth and understanding. We encouraged each other during difficult moments, celebrated small achievements, and reminded each other to keep moving forward.
Love, for me, wasn’t a single moment where I suddenly realized I had fallen for him. It happened slowly, just like the app where we met. It grew through patience, trust, understanding, and consistency.
I joined Slowly without searching for love, but I found something much more meaningful. I found someone who helped me understand not only him, but also myself. And maybe that is my favorite part of our story ,we didn’t just fall in love, we grew together.
